The Prey By Detech Universal Product Inspector (UPI) is our latest automated inspection development that uses our many years of vision and software expertise to provide a cost effective versatile final product visual inspection system.
For many years the industry has concentrated on inspecting and checking products as they are manufactured and often left the final inspection to human operators. The control of this process has until now been left without any automated inspection being considered due to a lot of this being very bespoke. Prey have looked to tackle this and the result is the Universal Product Inspector (UPI).
Prey wanted to design a system that was incredibly easy to use while remaining accurate, flexible and repeatable across every industry when human inspection is presently being implemented.
The UPI can be used in many different areas of industry where final repeatable product quality is required. This system is truly universal and can be used for inspecting almost anything. The system can inspect both sides of an assembly in sub 4 seconds.

In addition to the standard features, the Prey By Detech UPI offers the same bespoke software interface used across the Prey Inspector range allowing for ease of training to both new and existing customers.
The Prey, in-house developed software features a unique “analysis” button that allows the software to work with you and train component fluctuations with ease. This feature combined with our Optimise button allows you to use AI to create the most optimum inspection parameters giving you total control of your pass rate tolerances.
An exceptionally easy user interface allows for ease of programming with control of all parameters and tolerances meaning that a bespoke system is given by an almost standard out of the box solution.
Different options are available to allow for thousands of different application, these include standard to specialised optics and cameras as well as tailored jigs that can be created in hours rather than weeks.
Our UPI is built around our long established Prey Inspector software, providing an intuitive user experience to help both operators and programmers navigate the software with ease and feel at home with the Windows styled interface.
